LEGO Winter Holiday Train 10254 Revealed & Photos!

Last year’s LEGO Winter Village release turned out to be an utter fiasco, with brick fans worldwide calling foul when the only new set released in the beloved series was the 12049 Winter Toy Shop remake, a move which infuriated long-time Winter Village collectors. But there’s little to no chance of anyone’s ire being raised this year, as TLG has now officially revealed this year’s exclusive Winter Village set. It’s the LEGO Winter Holiday Train 10254 set, and it just may be the best-ever of the LEGO Winter Village sets!

I’m on the road right now and don’t have the opportunity to craft the long-winded and incredibly-detailed write-up that I want for the 10254 Winter Holiday Train, but let me sum up my feelings in as few words as possible: I. Love. This. Set!

While it doesn’t come motorized and will require being being upgraded with Power Functions to be so, this set is otherwise exactly what I was looking for in the long-rumored Winter Village Train! I adore the festive green and red coloration on the train (particularly the coloring on the engine), and the “steam” rising out of the train engine is basically the coolest thing ever.

  1. Best-ever of the Winter Village sets ??? Seriously ??? It pales in comparison to the original Holiday train and yet Lego is expecting us to shell out 130 + tax for a pint sized train and a train engineer wearing a ball cap?? Another Winter Village dud 🙁

    • Hey dude time goes on. It is like one of those good old times right? But we have to accept it if we keep playing LEGO. We can’t really always compare new sets to old counterparts.

  2. Which power functions are needed?
    Lego part: 88002, 8884, 88000 & 8879 ?
Is this it or do I need more?

  3. Love this train.
I hope they will come with more remakes of older Winter Village Sets (like: Postoffice 10222, Winter Village Cottage 10229) for those who missed the sets from earlier years. The only way you can get them now is on internet, for sometimes 4x the original prize, that’s not funny!
I hope I can collect the whole series!
