LEGO Minifigures Series 16 71013 Blind Bags Revealed!

Remember that epic first series of yellow-packaged LEGO Minifigures Series 1 that came out way back in 2012?  Well, it’s taken a few years, but everything that’s old is new again, as the yellow blind bags for LEGO Minifigures Series 16 71013 have now been revealed! Oh, and uh… some of the figures themselves too! Check out the Penguin Guy minifigure, Banana Costume, Ice Queen, Baby Boy and more!

A leaked photo of the packaging for 71013 LEGO Minifigures Series 16 is making its way around the internet today, and while I’m not a big fan of leaks like these springing before TLG is ready for them to, I can’t really ignore this one now that it has!

The LEGO 71013 Series 16 Minifigures packaging gives us our first look at nine of the sixteen minifigs that will make up this series, as well as a number of accessories and a LEGO Baby Boy figure!

The complete list of figures included in CMF Series 16 is as follows, with the characters shown on the packaging in bold text:

  • Babysitter with Baby Boy
  • Scalawag Pirate
  • Female Cyborg
  • Ice Queen
  • Penguin Guy
  • Banana Guy
  • Arabian Knight Archer
  • Serenader
  • Imp (Boy in Devil Costume)
  • Spy
  • Hiker
  • Rogue
  • Wildlife Photographer
  • Dog Show Judge
  • Female Kickboxer
  • Spooky Boy

71013 LEGO Minifigures Series 16 PackagingMy personal favorites in this group are likely to be the same favorites as everybody else: the Penguin Suit Guy minifigure and Guy in Banana Suit Costume Minifigure. I hope that I’m not so old now that I’m the only one who remembers the classic “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” video and dance… am I?

Let’s face it: that Penguin Costume minifig is basically the single cutest thing ever in this line (although the new Baby Boy figure isn’t far behind!). I tend to dislike characters wearing devil costumes, but the boy wearing the winged demon (Imp) costume also looks super-adorable with his little tongue sticking out and awesome printed Halloween bucket for Trick-Or-Treating.

Meanwhile, that Ice Queen minifigure really gives me the shivers (pun totally intended)! It’s like an evil version of Elsa from Frozen… and I love it! The female cyborg with her half-cybernetic face showing also looks tough as nails. This 71013 minifigure series 16 is definitely full of greatness!

The Series 16 LEGO Minifigures are scheduled to be released in Fall 2016 (August/September), although an exact date hasn’t been confirmed for the figures yet by TLG. It’s going to be at least five months before these hit store shelves, though, so collectors are going to have plenty of time to save up their dollars and buy up the upcoming Disney Minifigures Series 1 assortment before this wave hits shelves.

I’ll post updates here and to our Facebook Page and Twitter Page once more news and photos of the LEGO Series 16 minifigures are available, so be sure to follow Brick Toy News on social media so that you don’t miss out when any of the latest news hits!

Which of the first half of the revealed figures for Minifigures Series 16 is your favorite, brick fans? Are you looking forward to owning any or all of these figures in late summer 2016, or does none of this latest batch succeed in capturing your imagination?

  1. I thought the babysitter was a teenage parent minifigure (which of course it can be, because imagination!)

Female cyborg. I cannot put in words how much I want her!

  2. That’s the Rogue in the pic, no the Arabian Knight

And the release date is September, it was revealed during the Toy Fairs last month

  3. I think banana man will be very popular and I want one of those babies 🙂

Thanks for sharing and now we wait…

    • Same here. Series 13 was hardly in stores here before it was gone and the monster series was out. I just ordered a lot of blind bags off of ebay. So here’s hoping I get most of the series 13 figures that I want, and can split the others with my sibs that also collect the figures. Between my brother and myself we have all of the monster figures now. That series was pretty cool and I hope they do another with a single theme.

  4. I love The Ice Queen, If you look closely you can tell she has the large dress piece that the queen from series 15 has 🙂

    • I saw that too! They’ve actually reused a lot of special molds for this series.

The Ice Queen is a nod to Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. Which in fact she is evil. much like the White Witch in Narnia. I’m excited because The Snow Queen has remained one of my favorite fairy tales since I was young. This time she is done right and is frigidly evil 😀

    • Sadly, it’s actually the one they use for wizards and Maleficent, it fits look like the big one in the picture but I’ve seen it in person now.

    • I don’t doubt that we’ll see the Simpsons return next year, if not late in 2016…

  5. I like this series, but I still can’t help but wonder if more Simpsons is coming or not.

  6. Jezu ten zwiadowca (łucznik) jest zajebisty nie da się go opisać muszę go mieć

  7. the pingouin guy is soooo cute! and perfect for the “animals-men” collection!

  8. I see a trend with the imp and faun from series 15, I can see little things like this becoming more prevalent in the future. I’ve always been a Lego fan. Disney has always been a little more transparent to me. We all understand why Legos are yellow right? So they won’t make Barney from Simpsons cause he’s an awesome drunk but they will make a evil faun and a fr#@kin imp?

  9. Just showed up in my local Wal-Mart today. Picked clean of the babysitter but I did get Banana Guy, Penguin Guy, Female Kickboxer and Serenaded. Honestly, I didn’t even know these were coming, the site I normally follow didn’t mention them.
