LEGO Disney Minifigures Series 1 Photo Revealed!

I was all set to get snug into bed and rested for a brand new week, when a photo was sent to me that I just knew I wasn’t going to be able to sleep without posting and talking about. We’ve known it was coming for quite some time, but finally–finally–the LEGO Disney Minifigures Series has been revealed, including Mickey Mouse, Stitch, Maleficent and more!

LEGO Disney Minifigures Series 1 Figures

A couple months back an early list of Disney LEGO Minifigures Series 1 characters began circulating the Internet, which many collectors immediately shot down as fake because it listed 18 characters instead of the traditional 16 a CMF Series contains.

Well, there have been a few changes to the proposed list of minifigs in the wave, but I’m happy to say that we will officially be getting a record eighteen Minifigures in LEGO Disney Minifigures Series 1!

The series will contain the following characters, as shown in the pamphlet image above:

  • Maleficent
  • Alice (in Wonderland)
  • Syndrome
  • Buzz Lightyear
  • Donald Duck
  • Daisy Duck
  • Captain Hook
  • Aladdin
  • Stitch
  • Cheshire Cat
  • Mr. Incredible
  • Toy Story Alien
  • Minnie Mouse
  • Mickey Mouse
  • Peter Pan
  • Genie
  • Ursula
  • Ariel

The biggest change between the original reported list of characters going around and the actual minifigs in this assortment is the loss of Tarzan & Jane and the five Inside Out emotions. While I’m deeply saddened to see that the Inside Out emotions didn’t make the cut, there’s no denying that this is a series where every character is an absolutely iconic one!

And hey, keep hope, Inside Out and Tarzan fans! While there’s nothing on the catalog image above that specifically denotes this as being “Series 1” of a LEGO Disney Minifigure series, I think we can safely assume that there will be at least one other series based off of the omission of certain key characters from this lineup such as Goofy and Pluto.

LEGO Toy Story Pizza Planet Truck 7598Now, if you’re having a little bit of deja vu looking at those minifigs, it may be because two of them are repeats of previously-released minifigures. Both the Buzz Lightyear minifigure and the Toy Story Alien minifigure were previously released as part of the popular LEGO Toy Story theme several years ago.

But while it’s a real bummer to see two repeated characters in this series, it’s been several years since those characters were available in brick form, and there’s millions of children who will be thrilled to have the opportunity to own LEGO Buzz Lightyear and Alien figures now for the very first time!

This minifigures series is expected to be released in May/June 2016, so we should be seeing them in just a few months. Start saving up your pennies (okay, dollar) now!

What do you think of the Disney LEGO Minifigures Series, brick fans? Are you dead set on owning any (or all!) of the figures in this series, or were you hoping for a different lineup for this first wave of Disney Minifigures (or perhaps no LEGO Disney minifigs at all)?

  1. Oh, yes…definitely on my list! I pretty much want them all…especially Mickey, Cheshire Cat, Ariel, Stitch, Donald, Toy Story Alien, Ursula, Peter Pan, Minnie and Daisy…Those are definite. Thanks for posting about these…you made my night! 😉

  2. Oh man!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I’ve been checking the website at least three times a week to see when these images get released. They are just as cool as I’d hoped!!

  3. I’m not a fan of disney but I’m sure my partner will be very excited to see Alice and the Cheshire cat in brick form!

    I myself wouldn’t mind Ariel’s hair though…

    (let the temptation begin)

  4. Oh boy, this is not going to be easy to get for me, people are gonna buy every case they can get, although lego store limits you to 12 figures. Does anyone know if the Disney store is going to be carrying these? Although it’ll probably be sticker shock there, I can easily see them selling these at $8.99 a pack like the blind bag key chains.

    • a 12 figure limit? which store is that? my store (NYC) is 16 because all the previous minifigure series were 16 to a set. but it should be no problem extending it to 18 for disney because there are 2 additional ones this series.

  5. Thank you for the news… now I can save up. Each release of mini figs I stand in the store feeling packages, this time I can pretty much just buy everything because someone in my family will want it!

  6. While I’m sad that the Green Alien is basically the same figure that we got in the Toy Story wave, I never got any of the sets with that figure in it, so this will be a nice way to get it, and I do like that the Buzz Lightyear figure has more of a minifigure head instead of the more molded head that came with the Toy Story sets. Of all of the figures, I think the ones I like the most are Captain Hook (I love the molded hat/hair combo piece), Genie, Aladdin (I love the hat molded into the hair), Ursula, Ariel for the new(???) mermaid tail, and ESPECIALLY Maleficent, she looks fantastic! Tons of unique and new molds, which is very exciting

  7. I really hope we do get a wave 2 of Disney Figures next year (they’ll most likely do them like how they did the Simpsons mini figures in 2014 and 2015). I’d love to see a Wreck It Ralph (possibly as a big fig?? Probably not in a blind bag but I can dream), plus a few other characters from that movie, like Fix It Felix Jr would be really great as minifigures. I’d also love to see more of the princesses in minifigure form. The fact that they’re doing Ariel this wave despite having already made her in mini doll form gives me hope that we’ll see characters like Belle, Cinderella and Jasmine in the future

  8. Can’t wait to get these! My local toy store (we don’t have Lego stores in NZ) sells complete sets guaranteed (hey have staff feel them up) and you can return and swap any doubles you do get. I will totally be buying a set!
