Sometimes TLG manages to strike like a ninja with brand-new, never-before-seen polybags appearing in the holiday section at Target stores like magic. And sometimes… not so much. The polybag set we’ll be discussing today is the latter. We’re getting a veritable army of Batman Minifigures this winter in honor of The LEGO Batman Movie, and we can now add another onto the list of officially released ones: the LEGO Batman in the Phantom Zone polybag has now been released!
It took a few more days than I would have liked, and there’s still only one new polybag out locally for me, but it’s from the theme I’m most excited about this year–a 30522 LEGO The Batman Movie Batman in the Phantom Zone set!
For those whose stores haven’t put the new polybags out yet, you can use the DPCI number above from the shelf-tag photo I took at my store to ask your friendly Target employee to hunt this down in the back for you. (I worked at Target, trust me: employees love hunting for stuff in the back. Heh.)
Now, I’m trying my hardest to both avoid spoilers and avoid posting spoilers for LEGO The Batman Movie, so there’s not a whole lot that I can say about the context of this 30522 LEGO Batman Movie Batman in the Phantom Zone set.
Of course, context doesn’t exactly matter in this instance. This is a polybag priced at $3.99 for 59 pieces (less than seven cents per piece!), and those of us who are hardcore about the 2017 LEGO Batman Movie (like me) are helpless to resist this set.
The LEGO 30522 Batman in the Phantom Zone set is now available at most Target stores in the United States, where it is priced at $3.99. Unpopular polybags tends to go on clearance after the holidays, but I don’t think this is an instance where we should expect any leftovers at most store locations. If you want Batman in the Phantom Zone, you’re probably going to have to fork over the full mighty four dollar price-tag!
What do you think of the LEGO 30522 polybag, brick fans? Are you bummed that this is just a generic black costume Batman Minifigure in this set and planning to pass on it, or excited to get a “plain” Batman for cheap?
