LEGO Batman Movie Killer Croc Tail-Gator 2017 Set Photos!

We’ve been seeing teases and leaks of the 2017 LEGO Batman Movie sets for over a month now, and with some of the sets now beginning to hit stores, it was only a matter of time until the official hi-res images appeared as well. And that time–is now! I’ll be posting my full discussions and photo previews of all the LEGO The Batman Movie sets over the next few days, and I’ll begin with one of my favorites (because its name is a pun): the LEGO Batman Movie Killer Croc Tail-Gator 70907!

I was a little skeptical of what kind of sets TLG could make for The LEGO Batman Movie that would feel fresh, seeing as how the Batman theme has been going strong now for a decade.

But now that we’ve seen almost the entire wave of sets coming out for the movie (the Batman Minifigure Series of blind bags has yet to appear, as well as the retailer exclusive Penguin Limousine set), I’ve got to say the depth and creativity of this line is really blowing me away!

I really believe that 2017 is destined to go down in history as the best year for LEGO Batman toys ever!

70907-lego-killer-croc-tail-gator-monster-truck The 70907 Killer Croc Tail-Gator set is primarily composed of two vehicles to accompany the four included figures: Killer Croc’s “Tail-Gator” Monster Truck and a small Batman Jetski. We’ve seen Bat-skis before, so that’s not terribly exciting, but I really like Killer Croc’s Monster Truck.

The horned skull on the hood, the vines and “Keep Out” sign on the side of the truck, the “slash mark” stickers on the roof… this Monster Truck is super-detailed and screams “Bad Boy” to me. I love it. I’ve heard some naysayers saying they’re really disappointed with the truck, but I’m hoping they’ll be won over once they see this vehicle in The LEGO Batman Movie (and I’m certain it will be in the movie).

Of course, the true main event here isn’t the vehicles–it’s the amazing selection of Batman villains minifigures packed in! After debuting this summer, I wasn’t sure we needed another Killer Croc LEGO figure again, but the new animal-styled “Crocodile Head” for Croc is totally different from the previous sets and is frankly a whole lot more fun.

Meanwhile, the set is rounded out by two villains I never expected to see toys of in my entire life: a LEGO Zebra Man minifigure and a LEGO Tarantula minifigure! Amazing, obscure rogues gallery choices. I’m totally in love with the diversity in this theme.

This is not one of the “Early Bird” sets that’s meant to be released right after Thanksgiving in time for early holiday shopping, but let’s be honest here–these sets almost certainly will leak out to some store chains before the end of the year. The set will contain 460 points and will likely retail between $49.99 and $59.99.

What do you think of the Winter 2017 LEGO 70907 Killer Croc Tail-Gator set, brick fans? How do you think the 2017 Killer Croc BigFig compares to this year’s version, and s this set on your winter wish list?

  1. Brickset says it will be $49.99 – so not much above 10 cents a piece then. Also Creator house images are up as well!

  2. I held off on the killer croc set TLG released recently because I knew this was in the works. I’m glad I did. That big fig doesn’t compare to this Rancor-handed Croc. I love the truck too. It looks like it is built with rear suspension, and if not, I can already tell that it would be an easy mod. This is great. And the price range isn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
