March 2017 has arrived at last, and while the LEGO Store March 2017 Calendar wasn’t exactly filled with thrilling promos (yet another Police Helicopter promo and a Duplo Fish), the month has brought us something that is worth getting excited about: the early April 2017 LEGO Store Calendar! TLG wants us to “Celebrate Friendship” next month with a Tic-Tac-Toe Polybag promo, one of the scariest Mini Monthly Model Builds ever–and what’s sure to be one of the hottest promos of the year: the Mini Volkswagen Beetle Polybag!
Thankfully, all it takes is one good promotion to turn around an otherwise boring month, and April has at least one promo going on that most brick fans are going to be salivating over!
With Easter fast becoming “second Christmas” as far as shopping is concerned and the qualifying purchase for the promotional Mini Volkswagen Beetle 40251 polybag being a low $50 purchase on anything, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this promo sold out early next month.
But that’s not the only free promo in April–there’s also a LEGO Friends Tic-Tac-Toe polybag set being given away with any $20 Friends purchase! I think this is a rather cute little Friends set, with the X’s and O’s being played by cute little animals.
I like the idea of a friendly game as a promotional giveaway in a month celebrating friendship, so the LEGO Tic-Tac-Toe set gets a thumbs up from me.
The April 2017 VIP Monthly Mini Model Build is for an Easter Chick being hatched out of an egg with its eyes still closed… while wearing a top hat. Umm, yikes. Personally, I find this Easter Chick to be downright terrifying, but maybe that’s just me…
It’s been years since we got a new POTC set, and this looked very impressive when I saw it at the New York Toy Fair 2017 last month. Pirate fans are going to love this!
And… that’s it, really! There’s no VIP Early Access in April, as the May 2017 D2C set is (of course) the LEGO Star Wars Snowspeeder UCS set that we’re not supposed to know about yet. We should be seeing the UCS Snowspeeder set revealed any day now, though, so stay tuned to the Brick Toy News Twitter and Facebook Pages for more on that!
What do you think of the April 2017 LEGO Store Calendar, brick fans? Will you be heading to your local store next month to pick up a Mini Volkswagen Beetle set or for any other reason, and what are you hoping to see as the promos on the May 2017 Calendar?
